Professor Andrew Goldsmith

Andrew Goldsmith is a Distinguished Fellow with the Social Cyber Institute. He is Matthew Flinders Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Criminology at Flinders University. His research over 40 years has focused on policing and organised crime, and more recently, cybercrime. He has a particular interest in how new technologies are influencing how crimes are committed as well as how they shape the practices of policing, courts, and prisons. From 2016 until 2022, he served as co-editor of the ANZ Journal of Criminology. He set up the Centre for Crime Policy and Research at Flinders and has also held academic posts in the UK, Canada and Colombia. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia, and has degrees from the University of Adelaide, Monash University, University of Toronto and the London School of Economics.
