FELLOWS PROGRAM

The Social Cyber Institute and the Social Cyber Academy have introduced a Fellows program to create opportunities for specialists in the field to gain additional recognition for their work, to develop their skills, and to contribute to our work for mutual benefit. The fellowships are pro bono, non-resident and initially are agrred for one year’s duration. They are open to people of any nationality. Diversity in recruitment is a guiding principle in SCG development. Fellows will have access to income sharing from any funded programs they support for SCG.

Distinguished Fellow: prominent researcher, policy maker or business leader, who has held CEO or equivalent position in academia (e.g. Head of School), government (Department Head) or the armed forces (Chief of Service).

Senior Fellow: prominent researcher, senior policy maker or senior business leader, with Ph D or equivalent research experience, and with demonstrated influence in their field, with ten or more years experience in that field.  The Senior Fellow can apply either in the Research stream or the Teaching (stream).

Research Fellow: Promising researcher, policy maker or business manager, with Ph D or equivalent research experience, and with demonstrated influence in their field, with ten or more years experience in that field.  The Fellow can apply only in the Research stream.

Talent Fellow: None of the above, probably under 30, and a clear achiever in an area of interest to the Social Cyber Group regardless of formal qualifications, though these will have some bearing on selection.

Applications should be submitted between 1 January and 31 March each year for consideration on a rolling basis at the end of each month in this period. To apply, please send a cover letter (maximum two-pages) and a cv. You should feel free to discuss your interest prior to submission. The Fellows convenor is  Professor Glenn Withers AO, one of Australia's most distinguished scholars. Please address your applications to glenn.withers@socialcyber.co

Part of the process of offering a fellowship will be agreement between the fellow and SCG on the contribution of one product or project by the fellow and the reciprocal commitment by SCG to help the fellow’s career objectives. Our aim is to appoint no more than four fellows in each category each year.
