Professor Adele Da Veiga
Adéle Da Veiga is a Senior Fellow with the Social Cyber Institute. She is a professor at the University of South Africa (UNISA) in the School of Computing in South Africa. She is involved in the tuition of post-graduate modules, postgraduate supervision, and research projects at the university. Her research projects focus mainly on information security culture and privacy with related empirical studies in industry that have been published in national and international accredited journals and in proceedings of peer-reviewed conferences. She has an NRF-C1 research rating from the National Research Foundation. She is also chair of the research ethics committee in the college. Prior to her academic career, she was employed in the industry for 14 years, where she specialized in information security, information security governance, audit, risk management, and privacy. She holds a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification from the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), a Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and a Certified Ethics Officer (EthicsSA reg no. EO 572) certification.
