Vaughhan Grant

Vaughan Grant is a Senior Fellow with the Social Cyber Institute. He has a worked across Defence to develop strategies that improve operational capability and workforce resilience. He led Navy’s adoption of the Defence ERP Program’s Military Planning and Operations workstream. After extensive consultation, analysis, and development he presented papers to Navy’s Senior Leadership regarding the implementation and transition that allowed Navy to complete its primary roles whilst aligning it to a Defence-wide standardisation. He has undertaken workforce reviews for Defence that involved analysis of extant cyber skills frameworks and career pathways. These reviews generated evidence-based outcomes including training curricula, ongoing professional development alternatives, remuneration scales, bespoke onboarding and dynamic career pathways. The recommendations from these reviews have resulted in the creation of new employment categories in Army and Navy – the Cyber Specialist and Information Warfare Officer - that facilitate immediate requirements and will support future agile adjustments in acknowledgement of the rapidly dynamic strategic environment. His strengths include delivery-focused leadership, governance and risk management, stakeholder engagement, and policy development. He excels at fostering relationships, managing complex initiatives, and delivering sustainable solutions through systematic design and execution. These when combined with post-graduate studies in Defence and Strategic Studies, Cyber Security, and Diplomacy deliver specialist skills, knowledge and experience.
